How To Pop a Key Back Onto a Dell Laptop Keyboard - It's all too easy to remove the keys from a laptop and almost impossible to put them back on without losing or destroying the almost microscopic parts. If you are careful and tread carefully, you can put a key back on your Dell keyboard and keep it working as good as new. All you need is a keen eye and some very steady hands.
Steps by Steps :

1. Start with all parts. Examine them carefully. Notice where the little tabs are on it. Arrange them correctly according to the diagram.

2. Note the orientation of the tabs on the U-shaped piece. Slide the tabs under the metal loops on the laptop as shown.

3. Slide the second O-shaped piece through the center of the U-piece.

4. Hook the tabs on the O-piece under the hooks on the laptop.

5. Click the tabs in the O-piece into the notches in the U-piece.

6. Make sure the tabs are lifted. At this point, the two pieces will gently lock together. If done correctly, they wo n't sit flat. They are slightly raised above the laptop surface.

7. Place the key right side up over the U and O pieces. So click the right side first (you'll hear it click!) and then press down on the left side of the key.

8. Click it in. If this doesn't work, make sure the small parts aren't broken. In this case you will have to replace them.

9. Voila! The key is replaced.
